Bio of Ted & Tracy Eeftink

Ted Eeftink was born in Ucluelet and has lived here his entire life. As a youth Ted and his brothers hiked every beach and trail around Clayoquot Sound and prospected in the old gold mines. Ted fishes these waters with his friends every summer. He became a mechanic and worked in the forest industry until it came to an end in 1993, then he opened his own garage, now Ted and Tracy work together running their kayaking business and Bed and Breakfast. A volunteer for the Ucluelet Volunteer fire brigade for 19 years, 15 years as a captain and now Ted is the Ucluelet fire chief.

Tracy Eeftink lived for many years at Whistler, BC and came to Ucluelet to start a kayak business. Many years were spent skiing in the winter and kayaking in the summer, eventually the friendly small town and Ted won her heart. Tracy enjoys kayaking, cooking, and gets pleasure from being a hostess and helping people have a fantastic vacation. "Majestic Ocean B&B was quite lovely" 5 stars

Date of review: Feb 22, 2011

The Majestic B&B has a nice setting right on the water and only blocks from town. The B&B was super clean, comfortable bed, large bathroom quite lovely. The hot tub was a nice feature which we used both nights. The commons area had everything we needed, computer, TV, microwave, dishes, table for all 6 of us. The breakfast was served when we wanted it and it was more than ample and very good.
The owner Tracie gave us so much information about the area and islands it was like we had our own history teacher. It was so interesting I could of sat there and listened to her all day. When we left we felt as if we were leaving our best friend.
We will come back and the next time go kayaking, can't wait!!!

"They had me at "Hot Tub"

Date of review: Nov 8, 2010

One of the most pleasant B&B stays we've Ever had. Rooms appointed with exceptional taste. Understated and not at all fussy like most operations who try to imitate luxury. Tracy knows what counts and hits all the right elements, like 600 thread count sheets on a very comfortable bed. There is a great common room to meet other guests and use all the modern electronic gadgets so the rooms aren't cluttered up with TVs and what not. The hot tub overlooking Ucluelet Inlet is a great way to unwind after a tough day of paddling. Breakfast was top drawer and bountiful!

"Fun on the west coast"

Date of review: Nov 13, 2010

My stay here was wonderful! The rooms were beautiful, and the beds very cozy. Just steps out my door was the ocean which made for an amazing view. There was an amazing hot tub overlooking the water. Oh and the food was amazing! I will most definitely be staying here again!

"Too good to be true"

Date of review: Nov 7, 2010

This advice is in fact to good to share it. At Majestic Ocean you are at the source...for good kayaking expeditions, really lovely rooms and a jummy breakfast at nice hosts. They also have a hot tub beside the ocean-inlet!
We had a wonderful stay at Tracy`s and Ted`s house and wished we could have stayed longer.

"Lovely place, great facilities" 5 stars

Kamante Netherlands September 19,2008

This is a lovely new place with great facilities. I stayed in the Marla Thirsk Room, for $CAN 159 ex tax.
The MT room is on the lower level, with window doors to the patio. View at the water (not the ocean but inlet).
Lovely interior (looked nicer in real than on photos I thought), 2 excellent beds, Bathroom big bathtub, separate shower.

Breakfast was enormous with french toast, fruit salad, yoghurt etc, and served in quest lounge at big table,
good opportunity to meet other travelers. The hosts also run a kayaking business, so they seemed quite busy.
But they took time to give info about area, walks etc. and were really friendly.
